Happy Endangered Species Day! There are thousands of endangered species living all around the world. Here are some ideas of how you can celebrate and help endangered species both near and far. Do some research to learn more about endangered species in your area. Texas Parks and Wildlife has a complete database with information about the threatened and endangered species living in Texas. Clear some time for outdoor exploring. Look around you and appreciate the wildlife you see. About the African penguin

DESCRIPTION This penguin is sometimes also called the black-footed penguin. The African penguin’s coloring helps the bird camouflage while it swims in the ocean. Its black back blends into the dark ocean when predators look down from above, and its white belly blends with the sunlight when predators look up from below. Males tend to be slightly larger with heavier bills, but this is usually not noticeable unless a male and female are standing side by side.
